About Janské Lázně

Janské Lázně lies on the southern slopes of the Krkonoš Mountains at an altitude of 670 m in a reasonably warm, hill-type climate with a high intensity of sunlight. The town itself is still in a very quiet area and has not been hit by mass tourism, unlike the nearby winter tourist resorts of Pec nad Sněžkou, Špindlerův Mlýn and so on. We can, therefore, call it a very high quality and mainly peaceful place for recreation, regeneration, sports and relaxation.

The local thermal mineral water springs preordained that the town would become a famous spa center. The springs, at a temperature of 29.6°C, are used for both bathing and swimming pools, which are used for rehabilitation therapies and the spas are sought after for treating arthritic and rheumatic complaints.

Janské Lázně and its nearby surroundings also offer countless other possibilities for relaxation and sports activity.

Černá Hora – Accessible in Winter and Summer

The Černá hora–Janské Lázně ski resort epitomizes the best in resort facilities with an excellent infrastructure and a wide variety of available services. When it comes to ranking Czech ski resorts, in year 2004, it was ranked as one of the top three 5-star centers in the Czech Republic.

In Janské Lázně, both demanding skiers and families with children will find what they are looking for. The resort offers slopes for all skill levels from short training slopes to slopes that are almost the longest in the Czech Republic (up to 3,000 m). Dynamic advances over the past few years in this, the no. 2 ski resort in the Czech Republic, have been enhanced by the completion of a new 8-seater multi-cabin cable car up Černá Hora, the only one of its type in the Czech Republic. The cable car is in operation all year round and so the resort offers many attractions for summer visitors too (the Černohorský bus, mountain bike rentals, mountain scooter rentals, etc.).

Other Travel Tips

Putting aside the winter season, Janské Lázně offers several well-marked walking trails and bicycle paths of varying levels of difficulty. Not far from Janské Lázně, there is a golf course right next to a new aqua park. In the nearby areas, you can also visit many historical and manufacturing sites. It can be pleasant to make an excursion to the nearby glassworks and brewery in Harrachov, visit the ZOO zoo in Dvůr Králové, Adršpach rock town and Prague is only two hours away by car.
